Article on Role Models

By | articles, Videos | No Comments

This week, we’ll be addressing something we actually delved into a little bit on last week’s live show. These days, there are so many options when it comes to role models. With social media, it’s become even easier to follow their movements, track how they live their life, and imitate that. In some cases, this is just a huge positive, but in others, it’s the opposite. It leaves a ton of room for them to slip up, and negatively influence the people who idolize them. Here, we’ll explain how important it is to not model your life after someone you idolize, and to maintain who you truly are at all times. Don’t get us wrong; having idols and role models is extremely important. Marc looks up to anyone who’s great, and works hard. It helps set an example, and a bar that you can work to reach. It’ll help push you to want to achieve what they have, because you see it’s possible. They aren’t special people, they’re just people who have taken a risk, and worked extremely hard because they understand the value of time. Then again, they aren’t perfect. They make mistakes too, and unfortunately, with the Internet…

Importance of BCAA – Article

By | articles, Videos | No Comments

When it comes to supplements, their rank of importance really varies. For most people, protein is number one, but after that, it becomes cloudier. Marc believes number two is BCAA. This week’s article will be dedicated to explaining what exactly BCAA is, how it positively impacts your body and results and finally which BCAA product you should take and when. It’s one of the most underrated supplements, so today we’ll set out to give it the recognition it deserves! Ok, well first of all, BCAA stands for “branched chain amino acids.” It’s a combination of three amino acids; leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Usually when you intake amino acids, and even things like protein, they’re metabolized in the liver. With these, the breakdown is actually focused mostly in the muscles. The reason Marc drinks AMRAP (Beyond Yourself’s brand of BCAA’s) while he trains is because of that. They go directly to your muscles and when broken down, give you energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). ATP is your main source of muscular energy. That being said, I think it’s clear why it’s useful! It’ll give you energy as you workout, allowing you to push yourself harder, and farther than…

Article on Other’s Opinions

By | articles, Videos | One Comment

As everyone knows, following a dream that may not be something society accepts as normal isn’t easy. Whether it be fitness, music, acting, or any other kind of abnormal profession, other people are often the reason you’re afraid/hesitant to pursue it. Since it’s a risk, and they haven’t personally witnessed anyone making it, they don’t believe it’s possible. When they look at the people who have made it, they assume they got in the easy way, or through someone else. In reality, the solution is hard work. That’s why you shouldn’t necessarily listen to those people. Even as a little kid, other people’s opinions have a huge impact on your life. You’re always wondering how others perceive you, and what they think or maybe even say about you when you aren’t around. Though it’s completely normal, it’s an unnecessary waste of time. As you grow, and get older, usually after high school, you realize people’s opinions don’t really matter. Certain people experience that little epiphany more intensely than others, and take it too far. These people usually overdo it, and change their personality completely for the worse. Most tend to realize, and it improves their quality of life, but not…

Avoiding Sweet Drinks

By | articles, Videos | No Comments

When people refer to beverages that have a negative impact on your body’s functionality, or hinder results from training, they often mention soft drinks and alcohol. Really, they should be avoiding all sweet drinks. Soft drinks obviously are bad for you, and are the ones most frowned upon by trainers, or dieticians, but in reality, other drinks can be just as bad. As we’ve already discussed, diet is the most important aspect of training and getting results, so a few sweet drinks can make a big difference when it comes down to it. First of all, these drinks can really be a huge contributing factor when it comes to gaining weight. The reason being, these drinks tend to have a lot of calories due to the high sugar content. These obviously aren’t beneficial calories for your body, but that isn’t even the biggest issue. The main problem is the fact that you can eat food with the same amount of calories, but it will fill you up. When you drink a soft drink, or other sweet drink, you’ll get a ton of calories and a crazy amount of sugar, but it won’t fill you up. Inevitably, this will…

Destiny

By | articles, Videos | 2 Comments

Some people don’t believe in destiny. Some people believe destiny is something that can’t be controlled; it’s something pre-planned, and something you’ll inevitably reach regardless of the path you take to get there. We believe in neither. To us, destiny exists, but we believe it’s something you control. You can decide your destiny, because if you put enough work into getting where you dream of, anything is possible. The key to achieving your dream, no matter how hard it may seem to achieve, is being able to picture yourself there. If you want to be a fitness model, can you picture yourself in front of the camera, in the best shape of your life? Can you picture yourself succeeding, but being willing to make all the sacrifices necessary to do so? Giving up your favorite foods, partying, drinking, time with friends… That’s the first step towards making a dream a reality. If you can picture yourself somewhere, it’s extremely realistic and achievable. This also works on the flipside, if you imagine yourself finishing college, getting an average job, sitting behind a desk everyday and think, “I’ll never be happy in that life,” then you need to step up and take…

By | articles, Videos | No Comments

So many times people undertake their fitness journey without fully taking into consideration their diet, even though diet is literally the most important part of the process. Your diet makes or breaks your results, and very often people become frustrated with their lack of progress and end up giving up on their dream body — but they never took into consideration what they put into their mouth (remember the expression, “abs are made in the kitchen”?). Article on Summer Training

By | articles, Videos | No Comments

Despite people generally wanting to pick up training in the spring to prepare their body for summer, summer itself is actually a great time to start training. This doesn’t necessarily mean in a gym either, it’s also the best time to start alternative style training outside. In this article we’ll explore the advantages of signing up for a gym in the summer, and even the different possibilities when it comes to outdoor workouts in the beautiful weather. If you didn’t find the motivation you needed to start working out in the spring, don’t get down on yourself; it isn’t too late. The summer is an amazing time to sign up to the gym. With the beautiful weather outdoors, the gym crowd tends to begin to shrink. People often begin to train less, as they want to enjoy the beautiful weather, or perhaps they throw in some different outdoor workouts to get the best of both worlds. What this means for someone who wants to start training at a gym is space. Instead of signing up to a crowded, possibly intimidating if you’re someone who worries about looking inexperienced gym, you’ll get a vacant, empty gym to learn and progress in….

Importance of Tracking Results

By | articles, Videos | No Comments

This week we’ll focus on the importance of tracking results. This could mean anything from writing down your weight month after month, or taking progress pictures every so often so you could see how you’ve transformed your body. Knowing how you’ve progressed is more important than you’d think. Having a photo, or something like weight written down from the past, or even a goal weight can make a huge difference. It’ll help your focus so much; like nothing else. When you’re feeling off, or like you don’t want to go to the gym, or eat that last meal, looking at where you were or where you want to be in a picture or on paper can get you right back on track. It’ll allow you to focus on what’s important and keep sight of your goals, and reasons for wanting to achieve them. Not only will seeing a large drop, or clean gain in lean muscle mass satisfy you, but it’ll push you to train harder. The feeling of accomplishment is one that can’t be replaced, and one that can’t be replicated without greater accomplishment. To get the feeling again, you’ll want to accomplish an even greater goal of yours,…

Train and accelerate growth

By | articles, Videos | No Comments

This week’s article will be discussing a different way to train for both muscle and strength gains. Occasionally you’ll hear of people who go to the gym twice a day. Most of the time, they’ll do two separate muscles. In this case, we’re going to talk about training the same muscle twice in one day. It may sound crazy, and hard on the body, but actually, the results can be quite positive. First, let’s try to understand how you can train the same muscle twice a day, and discuss the best way to do it in order to maximize results. First off, this isn’t something someone who has just started training should consider. It’s a technique only advanced gym goers should use. Marc has just begun using it himself. Now, as an example of how you’d go about training the same muscle in a day… Say you’re looking to accelerate the growth of your chest. In the morning, you would go to the gym and do compound movements with higher weight and lower rep ranges, so between 4-6 reps. For chest, this would mean maybe flat bench press, and incline bench press. Then you could do abs. Your workouts should…
